South Asia Trip Report
ADF South Asia Trip Report April 13-21, 2026
I would like to share with you all a report of my most recent trip to South Asia. In spite of the turmoil occurring in the Middle East our trip was able to happen with no travel interruptions. Over the course of the week, we travelled to 3 Hindu villages and 5 Muslim villages and vaccinated over 1500 animals for diseases that cause large outbreaks during rainy season and cause severe illness and death. We also provide very basic animal health training to them. After vaccinating the animals, we have an opportunity to visit with them and pray with them, sometimes we are able to also share bible stories. In one village we were able to present bibles to them in their local language. This opens the door for follow-up visits to ask if they have started reading it, and to see if they have any questions about what they have read. On this trip we discovered there is a real problem with arsenic contamination in their water, so we are also investigating the potential for helping them address that issue. Most of these villages have no electricity, and some have to travel up to ½ mile away to bring water back to the village for themselves and their animals.
This project is a little different than our usual projects where we try to make a village self-sufficient, because the purpose of our going is to allow our partner pastor to go to villages that are closed to the gospel, but want their animal vaccinated and to learn more about caring for them. This then opens the door to allow him to go back into the village after we leave for a follow-up visit and begin the process of presenting the gospel. I am slowly building a small team of veterinarians, including a woman vet, with the goal of one of us going quarterly.
With each visit I sense that God is really moving among the Muslim people and am excited to be even a tiny part of that. Without the support by ADF for vaccine and supplies as well as part of my travel expenses this could not happen.
